JANZ Corporation (JANZ) was founded in 1999 as a holding company for NorthStar Medical of Ada, Michigan. As a holding company and Women Owned Business, JANZ managed a US Government Federal Supply VA/GSA Contract. Their main products were defibrillators and accessories. In December 2013, Richard Finsterbusch (a Service Disabled Veteran) and Brian Healey purchased JANZ from NorthStar and provided John Endres the former co-owner of JANZ a position in the company. Prior to purchasing JANZ, Mr. Finsterbusch and Mr. Healey were instrumental in building the military and Federal pre-hospital market at Philips Healthcare.
After the stock purchase of JANZ, Mr. Finsterbusch, Mr. Healey and Mr. Endres filed the paperwork to switch the FSS VA/GSA contract status to a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). After this was accomplished, JANZ filed an application with the Center for Veteran Enterprise (CVE) to become a certified SDVOSB, which was awarded in May of 2014. This was an arduous process which involving months of in-depth evaluation of the owners and the structure of the organization. JANZ has since renewed their CVE certification multiple times.
With the CVE Certification, JANZ was able to secure relationships with marquee healthcare corporations. As 2014 continued, JANZ applied for more government contracts including the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) ECAT Contract, DLA DAPA, US Army PEO-STRI and etc. By the end of 2014, JANZ had 8 employees.
In 2017, JANZ made the Inc. 5000 list (#280) as one of the fastest growing private companies in the US. In 2021, JANZ purchased a 12,000 ft office and warehouse in Columbus, OH and switched their legal corporate address from Michigan to Ohio. JANZ is now registered as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business in Ohio.
Today, JANZ has over 160 employees with medical supply stores in 6 countries and 2 US Territories.
