Special Operations Medical Association’s Scientific Assembly (SOMSA)
Charlotte Convention Center
May 21-25, 2017

The 2017 Special Operations Medical Association’s Scientific Assembly (SOMSA) will be an exciting conference with the Back to the Future Theme: Gaining Ground and Preserving Lessons Learned. The Janz Corporation team will be presenting products from our key manufacturers that provide products for an austere environment common to many special operations medical teams. Products must be compact, powerful, and rugged allowing SOCOM medics to do their jobs with equipment that provides excellent diagnostic information and supports them to save lives.

The Janz Corporation team is very excited to provide products for review that meet this criteria. The Philips ultraportable Lumify ultrasound unit will be showcased with the recent addition of a third transducer available for cardiac evaluation and other exams. The sector transducer supports up to 5 exam types- Lung, Echo, Abdomen, OB/GYN, and FAST. Lumify is an app based ultrasound available on compatible Android smart devices via the Google Play Store. The Lumify transducer is attached to your device via a simple USB connection that allows you to quickly start scanning.

Janz is also presenting the Shift Labs DripAssist Gravity Infusion Rate Monitor. The simple to use DripAssist Infusion Rate Monitor provides easy and precise gravity infusion measurements. The DripAssist runs continuously for two weeks on a single AA battery, works with any drip set, and contains no proprietary consumables. DripAssist can be used for human patients and for veterinary use including veterinary blood transfusions.

Other products for your review include SunTech Vet20 NBP monitor for Veterinary use (https://www.suntechmed.com/bp-products/veterinarian-blood-pressure-monitor/suntech-vet20),
Philips FR3 and FRx AEDs, Laerdal training and simulation products and tactical response kits that include the compact Philips MP2 IntelliVue Monitor and FR3 AED.
