Philips recently received FDA 510(k) clearance for Lumify’s S4-1 transducer bringing new capabilities, including cardiac imaging, to this smart-device ultrasound. Lumify is an app based ultrasound available on compatible Android smart devices via the Google Play Store. The Lumify transducer is attached to your device via a simple USB connection and you can quickly start scanning.
The Janz Corporation team is excited to announce that they recently completed user training for the Philips Lumify, a smart-device diagnostic ultrasound solution. Introduced in 2015, Lumify is the first Philips ultrasound device to be utilized in ambulatory use. The Lumify unit was initially available with two transducers L12-4 (lung, vascular, soft-Tissue, MSK, superficial) and C5-2 (for lung, abdomen, gallbladder and OB/GYN) ultrasound scanning.
With the recent introduction of the S4-1 transducer the clinical applications have expanded to include a full offering of in-demand scanning for cardiac, abdominal including lung, OB/GYN, and FAST exam pre-sets. The pocketsize and lightweight S4-1 transducer offers advanced sensitivity and exceptional high-resolution 2D image quality, along with exam pre-set functions, allowing clinicians to quickly triage patients and save data to be transmitted and reviewed. The Lumify app and the three transducers have also completed rigorous environmental and durability testing to ensure reliability for emergency and ambulance use.
The Janz Corporation team is proud to represent the Lumify Ultrasound unit and will be showcasing the system at the 2017 Special Operations Medical Association Scientific Assembly (SOMSA) to be held in Charlotte NC May 21-25, 2017.
